Hey Y'all!  My name is Missy Q.   I am not a formally trained chef or anything, I just come from a long line of proud home cooks.  I am a lawyer and I live in New Orleans with my rescue pup Ginger. I am not a fan of pickles, mayonnaise, shrimp, Adele and online dating.  I love Pure Barre classes and they have changed my life.  If you ever think about trying them and have questions, drop me a comment here!  You can read more about me here.

I always take requests for creating a recipe or making something low carb, dairy free or kid friendly. I was in a long term relationship complete with cohabitation and financial reliance in a beautiful home with a fabulous kitchen.  My ex woke up one day and decided he didn't want our life anymore and I suddenly had to find a place to live on short notice and a bargain budget.  I started the blog as a way to heal and occupy me while I lived in my "divorce apartment" with a shitty kitchen and on a debt diet.  My friend suggested I call it My Shitty Kitchen to be funny.  The blog was just for fun at first, but it has turned into a passion.  And I am all healed, way over it and (all but student loan) debt free now! I usually blog 5 days a week, with a recap of the weekend on Monday, recipes Tuesday through Thursday and five fun things for Friday.  Every now and then I change that up.  It's my blog, I can do what I wanna!
