Five for Friday-Heading out again

Hi friends!  Happy Friday to you!  Linking up with the beautiful Amanda for Friday favorites.

ONE:
This traveling fool is off to Chicago today!  I am going to watch my beautiful cousin run the Chicago marathon in honor of her sweet daddy, my godfather, who was taken away from us 9 years ago at the way too young age of 48.  She is raising money for the American Heart Association in his honor.  I know there are so many things (Houston, Florida, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas) that need our attention, but if you care to help out, you can do so here.

Love this beautiful girl so much and couldn't be prouder of her!
TWO:
I used to live on the street that intersects St.Charles  in this location and pass this delightful Halloween display every day during October, twice!  While I don't miss the way longer commute, I miss the fun decorations and beautiful mansions!

THREE:

I was contacted by Maple Holistics to try their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo.  I received a free full sized product for testing purposes.  I love the way it feels on my scalp as I have dry itchy scalp.  I have hella dry thick hair and had to use a lot of it, but that is to be expected.  You can get yourself a free sample here.  Have you tried Maple Holistics or Tea Tree Oil Shampoo?

FOUR:

I went to the doctor last week and they told me my Cholesterol and triglycerides were high.  They told me to avoid fried foods and exercise more.  I giggled.  As you can tell I don't eat fried food, and I exercise 6 days a week and always take the stairs.  Collagen and MCT oil in my coffee have hit the road and fish oil is in my future.  Goodbye Vito unwiches and weeknight wine!  Do you have any tips on non burpy fish oils?  Any tips to make me like Salmon?

FIVE:

In the wake of the tragedy of Las Vegas I am going to give blood and do good.  This may not be appropriate to all, but while we wonder how tragedies like this can happen, this story of a drive by cat shooting (I am serious read it) and a suicide of an LSU student who my family knows in local news made me think that we need to think about how gun violence can affect EVERYONE EVERYDAY.  My thoughts are with the victims of all gun crimes, mass shootings, drive by shootings, accidental shootings and suicides.  The violence just has to stop!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, what are you up to?!  I hope this is the end of the 90's for all of us still suffering through summer!

Happy Cooking!

Missy
