Five for Friday-Another long weekend!

Hi friends, happy Friday!  I am happy to be following this hard to get used to full week of work with a long weekend thanks to the Martin Luther King, Jr. day holiday on Monday.  I plan on cooking, cleaning and getting in my garden, Mardi Gras is literally around the corner and I need to rest up and prep!  Linking up with Amanda for Friday Favorites, here we go!

ONE:

Speaking of Mardi Gras, The New York Times named New Orleans the Number ONE place to go in 2018!  I do not blame them.  I sometimes cannot believe I ever moved away from this place!  We are gearing up for our 300th birthday and I have been to all the places they name in our little blurb.  Come visit!  I will help you plan your trip and buy you a cocktail!

TWO:

Did I tell you I won all three of my fantasy leagues?  Well I did!  I have a good bit of money I cam into and I decided to treat myself with some of it.  I got a piece of art and needed to get it framed.  I decided to try Framebridge and used the promo code Crooked from one of my favorite podcasts, Pod Save America.  I sent it off yesterday, I can't wait to see the results!  Have you used it before, if so will I be happy I did?

THREE:

Another thing I am gearing up for is Hogs for the Cause.   Our team is raising money with various fundraising endeavors.  We are selling Superbowl Football Pool Squares, and are hoping to have another Saints victory this weekend to get people excited to buy more.  They are $20 and if your numbers match the score at the end of the quarter, you win $250 and the other $250 goes to our charity.  Anyone want to buy one?  Let me know in the comments!

The only all female team out of 90!
FOUR:

Finally, us in the cusp have a term for us. I was born in 1979 which makes me a Gen X'er, but I don't feel like one.  I know I am not a millennial though.  This article explains my pains completely and has some good nostalgia.  What are you, and do you feel like one?

FIVE:

Has the Poke trend hit up your neighborhood yet?  We have two places Poke Loa and Poke Chan that have opened recently.  They are basically set up like a Subway and you pick what you want for the base and toppings.  I have been to Poke Loa for lunch and Gentleman Caller and I checked out Poke Chan Tuesday night for date night.  Man it was good.  You cannot beat fresh tuna and avocado!  Have you tried this trend?
So delicious!
Well there you have it!  Have a spectacular weekend!  What are you up to?  Cheer on my Saints again please!  See you next week when I finally get back to regular programming.

Happy Cooking!

Missy
